1. What should every person try at least once in their life?

To let their guard down, and fall madly in love, even if it means getting hurt.

2. What brings you the greatest joy?

My family! I have four children and while they are all so different, they have beautiful hearts and a zest for life. My oldest Jillian is a little love bug. She’s passionate about film (like my husband) and works at one of the studios in LA. My second daughter, Maya, goes to college in Philadelphia at the University of Pennsylvania. She is so smart, and we’re so proud of her. My oldest son, Jack, is reserved and as sweet as can be, and my little guy Chase is outgoing, social and an excellent athlete! My husband, Jon, is an incredible business leader, a loving father and an amazing husband. To say I am in awe of him would be an understatement.

3. What brings you the greatest satisfaction?

Building a heartfelt, beautiful business from the ground up and knowing that inspiring women from all walks of life are wearing our denim!

4. What is the best advice you’ve been given?

Stand up straight!

5. Who do you follow on Twitter?

I’m not on twitter! But I am on Instagram and some of my favorite people to follow include Lori Loughlin, Old Bitches of Instagram and Lisa Rinna!

6. What is on your bookshelf?

  • A Return To Love by Marianne Williamson
  • You’re On Your Own (but I’m here if you need me) By, Marjorie Savage
  • Take Me With You By Catherine Hyde (this book was part of a book club hosted by our Heartfelt women last month!)

7. What charity do you support?

My family and I are very passionate about supporting the following organizations:

The Painted Turtle, a beautiful organization that provides summer camp to sick children.

Women’s Cancer Research Fund, a non-profit that mobilizes the influential entertainment community to raise critical funds to support cancer research.

Natural Resources Defense Council, an organization that works to ensure the rights of all people to clean air, clean water, and healthy communities.

The Museum of Tolerance, a multimedia museum in Los Angeles, designed to examine racism and prejudice around the world with a strong focus on the history of the Holocaust.

8. What is on your bucket list?

I really want to go to Iceland and see the northern lights!

9. What is on your perennial to-do list?

Organize my house, always!

10. What are the last three items on your credit card statement?

  • Sushi lunch with my kids (and their friends!)
  • Grocery shopping
  • My son’s haircut

12. Who are your heroes?

They include Malala Yousafzai, the Pakistani activist for female education (and the youngest Nobel Prize laureate) and Ruth Bader Ginsberg for her unwavering energy and absolute insistence on remaining relevant.

13. Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party?

Oprah for sure! I would love Steven Tyler, Malala, Drake, and of course the notorious RBG!!

14. What is your greatest indulgence?

I would say getting help with my kids — and I can’t pass up a good facial!

15. What is on your nightstand?

Magazines and books and water. That’s it! I like to keep my space clean and simple.

16. What quote do you live by?

Be cool, Be kind.

17. What is the best gift you’ve ever received?

My wedding ring.

18. What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?

Some people are surprised by my sense of humor!

19. What is your beauty secret?

Exercise and sleep.  I like to switch between yoga, circuit training, spinning and hiking. All these activities allow me to get out of my head and into my body, which calms me down and keeps me grounded. I try to get 7-8 hours of sleep most nights if I can. All of this combined keeps the stress down and everything functioning well. Whenever I stop exercising or don’t get the right amount of sleep for a while (hint: TSVs!) — I just look tired and have low energy!

20. What is one thing you wish you knew when you were younger?

That it’s all going to work out… and that the scale doesn’t matter!
