This special blog has been a long time coming! As we all know, 2020 was coo coo so we took a hiatus from special blogs. It’s now the first week of 2021, and we are SO READY and SO EXCITED with the new year’s energy!
With that said, we know just the perfect lady to kick off 2021 with us! She is a true gemstone jewelry expert, a veteran television shopping personality, has a heart of gold, and a smile that lights up a room! She is Michele Lau!

1. What should every person try at least once in their life?
Go Skydiving. Drive a Zamboni. Ride in the Oscar Meyer Weiner Mobile! Yup, done all three! (And yes, the exhaust smells like hot dogs – the Weiner Mobile, not the Zamboni.)
2. What brings you the greatest joy?
Everyday things. Seeing how happy our dogs, Buddy Ragsdale and Teddy, are each morning. Having a good laugh with a friend. Making Sunday breakfast with Mom and the Hubby.
3. What brings you the greatest satisfaction?
Assisting the QVC customer in selecting an important and meaningful piece of jewelry for themselves or a lucky someone! There is no better feeling than connecting with my QVC family in that way!
4. What is the best advice you’ve best given?
Take a deep breath. Slow and steady wins the race. Don’t use so many cliches! Ha!
5. Who do you follow on Twitter?
Gene Simmons. I think he is an interesting cat. Oh, and the GIA. (Gemological Institute of America)
6. What is on your bookshelf?
More gem books than I can count! And cookbooks, lots of cookbooks. I collect them when I travel instead of tee shirts.
7. What charity do you support?
The Foundation Fighting Blindness. Many people don’t know that I have a condition called RP, since not all handicaps can be seen. Thankfully, it has been stable and mainly affects my night and peripheral vision. There are great advancements being made!
8. What is on your bucket list?
When the world calms down, I plan to do some traveling! I would like to go to Brazil and visit the emerald mines someday. Tanzania is also on the bucket list. And I have GOT to get back to Australia – my favorite place to visit so far!
9. What is on your perennial to-do list?
Clean out and organize my closet. It has a life of its own!
10. What are the last three items on your credit card statement?
Ice Coffee, QVC, Post Office. My version of gym, tan, laundry!
11. What item in your closet do you wear the most?
My PJ’s – when 6pm hits, that is it. For bopping around West Chester you will find me, likely, in my jeans!
12. Who are your heroes?
My Mom (call her Mama Pat), my Aunt Dar, and Betty White. They all have a joy of living, sense of humor and tenacity that I admire! And my husband, Ron, for supporting and putting up with this wonderful, crazy life of ours.
13. Who is on the guest list for your ideal dinner party?
Well, those four for sure!
14. What is your greatest indulgence?
Diamonds, darling. And a spa day. Throw in some cheesecake and I will follow you anywhere!
15. What is on your nightstand?
My favorite Sunflower Tiffany lamp, chargers, a remote control, and bottled water. And lip balm, lots of lip balm.
16. What quote do you live by?
“I am me. I will always be a second best somebody else. I am the best me there is.” This saying hung on my wall as a child and just “stuck.”
17. What is the best gift you’ve ever received?
People are so generous – I can’t pick just one!
A) The eyeglasses my Sister, Amy, gifted me were a total surprise and I love them
B) A box of Beekman goodies from a friend and
C) A Smile Box (check it out; it is cool www.yourdailysmiles) come to mind first! It was so sweet and thoughtful and lasted for months!
18. What is one thing people would be surprised to know about you?
That I am an adrenaline junkie. But I dislike rollercoasters after a photo shoot for HSN years ago. Four times on the Kumba was too much! (Am I right, Connie Craig amd Bill Green?)
19. What is your beauty secret?
Beekman 1804 Handcream. Lots of handcream to show off the jewelry – I am obsessed!
20. What is one thing you wish you knew when you were younger?
To be kinder with myself. Physically, emotionally, spiritually – know your worth!
