Guess we now know why back in December our Lady Nine M heard Joy say on air that the item they were presenting is the last one in the Joy & Iman line + it answers our question/or rather highlighting that QVC was closing HSN’s Long Island office (which was Joy’s) after the acquisition
I hate all the ads on the Daily Mail site; but it contained the most information out there in web land with the standard PR statement:
https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-6520729/Infomercial-queen-Joy-Magano-leaving-HSN-nearly-20-years-company.htmlFebruary 24, 2019 at 8:52 pm EST #332934
With Joy’s sales volume, I’m going to guess she’s working out a deal with Evine.
At least, I hope so!
Can’t wait to see her back on air.
She brings such colorful products and it’s so fun when she’s the TS!
In the meantime, if you need more Huggable Hangers… go to Bed Bath & Beyond or The Container Store
I’m so glad I ordered a set of HH for BF’s mom back in December, from HSN!February 24, 2019 at 9:06 pm EST #332942
Ironic – a blurb from HSN’s pr statement:
““Joy may be leaving, but our customers will be able to continue to shop Huggable Hangers, My Little Steamer and many of the great products she has presented on HSN over the years,” “
So I guess they worked out a deal where QVC/or HSN will carry JM inventory – but no Joy, which is a big deal
With Joy’s incredible sales, this sure feels like a political situation to me (starting with closing the LI office)
Quick history lesson: In 1991 or 1992 Joy debut on QVC with her first Miracle Mop; in 2000 she was poached by former QVC stakerholder / new HSN stakerholder Barry Diller and moved with him to HSNFebruary 25, 2019 at 7:54 am EST #332955
Oh wow. I’m shocked at this. Joy Mangano was a big name at HSN. And the HSN outlet in FL was FULL of Joy’s stuff, so you know they have a huge inventory.
But I have to also wonder if it is a business decision for Joy. HSN was not exclusive for things like her steamer or her Huggable Hangers. I wonder if she wants to take her products into more retail instead of giving some of it exclusively to HSN.February 25, 2019 at 7:59 am EST #332956
That article says that Joy sold her company to HSN initially, further making me think her split from them was also so she could get away from whatever they were restricting her about.
It will be sad not to see her on HSN. And I agree that she may head to Evine!February 25, 2019 at 1:09 pm EST #332971
Given that Iman’s next show is a clearance, I wonder if she’s next.February 25, 2019 at 2:13 pm EST #332973
I was pondering that too. There was an Iman 1-hour clearance show over the weekend and she wasn’t there.February 26, 2019 at 2:00 pm EST #332983
I saw that on HSN’s FB page. Someone asked when Iman’s next show was, and they said to check the schedule. Then they were like, “Oh, sorry, it’s a clearance only from now on,” which means she’s outta there.
And honestly at this point I wonder if the intention is to keep HSN open.

And, I feel like they’re practically ushering HSN vendors out the door and into Evine’s arms. Which, at this point, I’m happy to see a reunion over there and perhaps HSN fans will follow and help Evine’s sales!

Hmmm… what “premier brand” is Evine launching in January 2019, according to that report from Evine?
Jewelry and watches make up the bulk of their sales, but IMHO fashion is one of their strong suits.
Maybe they can focus less on Invicta.March 1, 2019 at 12:43 pm EST #333061
Hmmm… Jennifer Flavin Stallone’s Serious Skin Care launched on Evine in January. Maybe it’s them!

Maybe. Whatever it is, they’re expecting it to bring big profits.March 12, 2019 at 4:08 pm EST #333362
