Seriously? Bronze is not a precious metal. Swarovski is not a gemstone. JTV of the past would never have carried this stuff!

Unfortunately as gold continuous to rise in price, jewelry makers have to find way to provide good looking & well made jewelry made with metals that were never dreamed of being used before! Some of these are copper, bronze, & one of
The most popular stainless steel! Copper & bronze are usually plated with gold
& instead of paying the high prices customers pay a very much more modest
price! Stainless steel now needs no plating it is very good looking on its own &
has been used for wedding bands for awhile! It is very durable & tarnish free!
It’s one problem is : fingerprints are easily noticeable, but that is not a biggie a little wipe with a soft cloth & your ready to go! None of the jewelry channels
needed to go to this extreme because they didn’t face today’s gold prices! I
think if anyone that can purchase a multi stand chain in gold for perhaps
$700.00. Is fortunate & I respect them! But I also respect the person who buys a gold dipped chain & treats it with care will have it for a long time! But the good side is that gold jewelry is still a choice! Hugs🌹

I got a set of three – rose gold, yellow gold, silver – 24″ chains (plated over bronze, of course) from LC’s auction for about $5. They’re perfectly fine chains for everyday wear; in fact, I wore my Vermelho garnet pendant on the yellow gold one earlier this week. I would never pay $99 for these. I like the look of those Moda al Massimo bangles on one of the JTV front-page mastheads, but I couldn’t find them in the listing to see how much they were.

ETA: OK, I was not clear on this necklace. I thought it was three separate chains. It’s one necklace. Still pricey, IMO.

I’d echo the sentiments only because I have been a JTV customer for a long while. I guess I really liked the idea of buying jewelry that does not use “mystery metals.” I liked to say, “Well, you pay that price for what is essentially costume jewelry, and I pay that for genuine gemstones in silver.”

But I’ve watched JTV expand their customer base by introducing more costume jewelry. They use fewer gemstones (as defined by the industry) — many are created stones, heavily treated stones that may as well be created, and even plastic. As mentioned czs are not gemstones even when they have a fancy European name. :ok:

They’ve also changed their pricing structure (generally), and I don’t buy that it’s strictly “market pressure” in the sense of gold or silver going up because while high historically those metals haven’t gone up all that much. So, it leaves me feeling like the company I looked to for consistent quality and value has sold out a bit, and this daily value is an example.

That said, however, I realize the Stratify and other lines are very popular and that many JTV customers clearly like what JTV is selling. They sell out a lot. I love many pieces in JTV’s current inventory and look forward to purchasing gemstones in precious metal settings. I just don’t do it as often.

I gotta say – Jennifer looked fabulous tonight wearing this necklace. She had on a black twin-set sort of top. The cami was black with little gold spangles on it and every Moda necklace she put on just looked fantastic with it! She layered this one with one of the big medallion necklaces and it looked spectacular! I still think it’s pretty expensive, as is a lot of Moda stuff, but it does look really nice. :stars:
