These are I2 diamonds, color H.

The I stands for “Included,” so at least they are graded diamonds, unlike other retailers who sell diamonds so bad they’re too low to really grade. Places like Zales try to sell you I3 diamonds because they say when they’re small or in a cluster, that’s the common grading. Which is a lie, because the better jewelers won’t sell below SI. The trouble is, your price at Zales doesn’t match that great decrease in grade.

In my experience, you can get away with I1s at a cheap price if you’re willing to compromise a bit on clarity because while they have obvious flaws, they’re mostly clean and the flaws aren’t that big even though you can sometimes see them with the naked eye. But I2 and I3 diamonds are not happy, clear diamonds, especially when there’s a cluster like that.

You will never regret buying SI diamonds in my experience. The price is higher, but the brightness and sparkle are in line with what you want with diamonds.

    -ing those tips!!!

I watched a show and I gotta say… when they held up the 1/2 cttw and 1.00 cttw next to each other… I noticed a drastic color difference between the two!

One pair was white on television while the other pair was yellow-ish.

It just goes to show that unless you get to see diamonds in person… it will be a surprise what you’ll receive :ladywink:

    (and that’s just the color)
