More than 200 people in 40 different states have filed a class-action lawsuit against Wen Hair Care and infomercial giant Guthy-Renker, alleging the product has ingredients that cause hair loss.
Full article here:
This is not a new accusation for WEN. There have been many stories about this on the QVC board. According to the article, they’re going to settle, so you probably won’t hear much about the specifics.
December 16, 2015 at 3:49 pm EST #206879Odd how a product works great for some and awful for others, isn’t it?
Thanks for the article, Lady Michelle!

December 17, 2015 at 2:11 pm EST #206904Also, apparently in September, there was a $5 million lawsuit against Jessica Alba’s Honest Company:

Lots of comments going on on the Wen FB page:

AnonymousI wonder if Q will drop him or keep carrying his products?
December 24, 2015 at 9:00 am EST #207156My guess is they’ll they’ll keep it, but maybe keep it low for a while. I think CD will settle this out of court (where you get the chance, as a defendant, to dictate at least some of the terms of what is released to the public) instead of having a trial. The problems with the product are not new. There have been many comments with the same allegations on the Q boards.

AnonymousI returned Wen hair products to QVC because during and after one use it burned my scalp causing it to blister and scabs to form. I just happened to see that the class action lawsuit against Wen has been settled and claims are being paid out. The settlement stated purchases made by any customers would be sent notification from the seller which in my case would be QVC.
I went to my account to check the date of my return and refund only to discover my purchase of Wen hair care products (TSV) has been removed and deleted from my purchases and from the returns . There are no traces of me having made a Wen purchase from QVC on my account!! Which explains why I did not receive notification of the Wen settlement claim process.!! WOW!December 17, 2016 at 5:37 pm EST #217829Hi Juju! Eek! Are you going to contact QVC to find out what happened to your order record? Maybe you can check your email for your old QVC order confirmation too :ok:
December 18, 2016 at 8:09 am EST #217847You could check your payment source too, such as a credit card or check.
December 18, 2016 at 10:09 am EST #217856I just checked my email and it turns out that on 12/11 I received an email entitled “WEN Hair Care Products Class Action Settlement” with instructions. I have no problems with WEN products; they worked really well for me for years; so I’m not doing anything with it.

Wow, so it was sent recently. I am sooo bad about checking for emails like that. I use one account for the shopping channels and other non-business things, and you can’t believe A) the amount of spam…ahem…promotions I get and B) the sheer volume of emails from all the online ordering I do, some of which ends up in my inbox and most of which ends up in Junk. I would have never seen it.
December 20, 2016 at 11:40 am EST #217892Me too! I have 8 email addresses – each for a different purpose! :rotflmao:

AnonymousSo what is going on with this and a lot of other “class action” lawsuits? Someone or small group of people shaking down a corporation for money for some grievance, real or fake? So some lawyer gets a big pay day and most others get maybe $5 if they are lucky? DH just got one of those and it was for 46. Yes, 46 cents. Sad state of affairs, if you ask me.
