Along with the recent host layoffs (see here) QVC also announced that they will be laying off 500 jobs in the next 14 months –

Of course they will blame it on Covid instead of bad management.

    Exactly.

Although, through COVID, they have been open as they are an online retailer and weren’t required to close.

Yes they have however they will say with all the social distancing they have had to improvise with things and sales have fallen off.  :rotflmao2: I know it isn’t funny but I think they will use any excuse to justify what they are doing.

It is sad because QVC was the type of company that was hard to get into because its employees rarely left. It was a tight-knit crew. And we know from experience that it’s devastating when you’re left and you watch all your coworkers fired bit by bit as the company struggles to adjust due to COVID BS.

They had already trimmed down who was allowed in and out of the Q, but they weren’t forced to close like so many others near them. It’s always hard to read what their total sales are — a ridiculously high number — and then hear someone say it’s not good enough. But like Kitty, I put the blame squarely on their management/ownership.

Yep! And, even hubby has been ordering lots of their food – seems like lots of viewers did as well based on sell outs over the last 5 months – so it doesn’t feel like their order volume went down  + as time progress and people’s mood got a littler better and need more entertainment … I think sales in other categories felt ok too

:iagree: IMHO, it is always the management/owners; seen it so many times in companies of all sizes :rolleyes2:

It is especially awful to see companies overhire as a solution vs working smarter/efficiently because at some point they always do cuts once management doesn’t make the numbers.

Their sales and HSN’s sales were good too. It wasn’t that!
