Hi Kitty! How did you find out about QVC’s very first show? Did they have models on the premier show then too? :please:

They did some low key advertising about ten days before it aired for the first time. I was intrigued and thought now how is this going to work. I had not watched any home shopping TV of any kind before. As I was watching the very first show I told Frank we should buy stock in this company. He laughed and said I don’t think so. Now about fifteen years later he was saying “I should have listened!” Of course by then you could no longer buy open stock! No they didn’t have models at all. Kathy showed the pearls on her neck and then she showed how they could be wrapped twice around your wrist for a bracelet and talked about how they were a classic piece of jewelry. She did the whole thing herself. Then Bob Bowersox (sp) was on and I honestly don’t remember what he sold but it was also just him doing the demo. The set was just really plain with no bells or whistles. Kathy and Bob both talked about themselves some and their families. Kathy said she was single and Bob said he was married. I am not sure why but I just knew that this was going to be a huge hit and it has been.

This is a sort of funny thing and a lit bit of trivia. They use to do these four hour long shows of linens. Now some of the things were really nice but there weren’t a lot of products at the time. Kathy Levine use to just start chatting about all kinds of things because honestly there is only so much you can say about sheets, towels and etc. you could tell it was hard to do these shows for her and the other host also. So she gets a memo so to speak about the shows and she says to the powers that be “you try to talk about the same linens for four hours”. They ended up not having to do four hour linen shows anymore!! LOL She wrote about this in one of her first books and when I read it I just laughed out loud because I use to remember how boring they would get when you tried to watch them and the only reason to keep watching was to see what Kathy would start chatting about!! LOL LOl

Interesting! I am watching a Dooney & Burke show with host Leah William and guest Ashley right now, and it looks like a 90s QVC models show! Rebecca and Donna are back! Nice!!! They both look great and haven’t aged a bit!

Photos and a few notes updated :ladywink:

I compiled a list of QVC models that I know of starting from when I started watching about 15 years ago:

Aiko Heike – Married and I see her on QVC once in a blue moon; I think it was a special occasion, actually! I miss her presence on QVC! Update 1/5/2015: News from our QVC Queen Debra! Aiko married to a Canadian, then moved to Mexico, and is now with another gentleman.

Angela Izzo – Still very active on QVC! I’ve seen her on fashion, jewelry, and mattress/pillow shows.

Anne Glunk – She doesn’t seem to be on QVC often anymore but she was there on New Year’s Day modeling! I wish she’s on a lot more, another one of my favorite models! Update 2017: Anne has been on QVC often. Hooray!

Carole Alston-Bissett – You can read an update here.

Colleen – Very active on QVC especially for fashion shows. She’s super fun to watch!

Deanna Fontanez – She’s one of the younger models and very active at QVC.

Dorian – She was quite popular on the Q many years ago and then poof! I felt like she suddenly wasn’t there anymore.

Jacqui Thompson – Very active at QVC! She does lots of fashion shows and is a regular on Isaac Mizrahi’s shows and The Lisa Robertson Show before it ended. I  it whenever she’s on a show!

Joy Pinizzotto – She’s on QVC once in a while! My favorite beauty model! She could have been a makeup artist, IMHO. Update 1/5/2015: News from our QVC Queen Debra. Joy is on a lot during the day for makeup {BE, Laura Geller & Mally} and WEN, home goods. She rarely does fashion and her hubby is the #3 guy for Vionic/Orthaheel {Joakim Alvarez} Update 2017: I should have shared this a lot sooner. Joy has not been on the Q in a long time. I believe she has her own modeling business; and many of her former QVC model friends work with her agency too :ladywink:

Kate Coll – Very active at QVC for fashion and jewelry shows. She was a regular model for The Lisa Robertson Show. When I see Kate, I think of QVC the way they used to be.

Kerin Martucci – Still see her once in a while on QVC!

Kerri Kazall – Still very active on QVC for a variety of fashion shows, WEN, and beauty!

Lorraine McKiniry – One of my favorite Q models from a long time ago and she only returned a few times after her departure. I remember seeing her in a commercial years ago on the mainstream channels :ladywink:

Melissa – Married and retired. Most recently popped up on Lisa Robertson’s final show. Above is a photo of Melissa (right) with fellow Q models Brenda (left) and Monica (center) who are both active on QVC.

    Rebecca then (above)

Rebecca Now… looking fab! She was off QVC for a very long time and I think she popped up on the Q earlier this year (2017) but I missed it! Hope she shows up a lot more.

Sheila Alasha – Still see her on QVC from time to time. her shows! Update 2017: Sheila’s been on the Q a lot. YAY!!!

Stacy – Very active at QVC! She was a regular model for The Lisa Robertson Show and Joan Rivers Collection. Update 2017: I feel like I haven’t seen Stacy on much this year.

Suzanne Thomson – Very active at QVC! She is one of the regular models for the Joan Rivers line and in many fashion / beauty / and jewelry shows.

Thea Marr – I have seen Thea on QVC once in a while!

Trina Clark – It’s been rough. You can watch a video here and here.

So first model that had Canadian then moved to Mexico, then got another guy?   So, she divorced the Canadian?

I think they are looking for “thicker” models these days.  Got to be correct about things now , you know.

About model Aiko – That’s how I interpreted it

Update 9/2017: I’ve seen her twice this month, including on the Red Carpet Live in LA show! I wonder if she’s back permanently?

Wow! Blast from the past! I’m on staycation (woohoo!) and just saw Aiko on QVC’s Denim & Co show! What a surprise – after all these years away! Used my iPhone to take a pic of my tv and cropped the edges off :teehee:

Interesting thread and nice compilation of some of the models on QVC. I don’t see Colleen much these days. Kate reminds me of the models back in the50’s and 60’s that you’d see wearing the great styles in Vogue and the others when they were filled with real fashion.

Colleen is a fun one! She always laughs and winks at the camera

I agree about Kate! I’m so glad she’s still a regular on the Q :please: She and Anne have not changed a bit!
